Oak Island Fishing Charters had a mixed bag of Trout, Red Drum and Black Drum today. With the wind blowing hard and the temp. a little cooler we had several keepers and a few throw back. All in all a great day and cant wait till the group comes back next year.
Month: October 2011
Oak Island Fishing Charters Backwater Red Drum
Today the group with Oak Island Fishing Charters went Trout and Drum fishing. First thing we caught a Trout but it was to small and then it seemed like we rode around all morning looking for some fish that wanted to give us a fight. Finally the last stop was one bite after another on Red Drum. The Trout bite has been good all week so I have no reason why we did not catch them. I can give you excuses but the fact is we just did not catch them. Great day with great people, what more could you ask for.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Big King Mackerels
Oak Island Fishing Charters got into a great bite of Big King Mackerel today (to bad there was no tournaments around). The avg fish was over 20lbs so it looks like the little one have moved out. We will be trout and drum fishing the rest of the week.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Finally Fall Catching
Oak Island Fishing Charters hung up the idea if the King Mackerel are ever going to show up on the beach and took the group backwater fishing. Final count 10 Trout, 3 Red Drum and 1 flounder. Its about time to go wear the wahoo out so after this week big change of plans.
Oak Island Fishing Charters a lot of kings
Finally Oak Island Fishing Charters got into a good bite of King Mackerel today and we also had a nice cobia to go in the cooler. Looks like Friday-Sunday the bite will fire up on the beach.
Oak Island Fishing Charters No King Attact
Oak Island Fishing Charters fished the beach today hoping the fall migration of the jumping King Mackerel would do their thing. First 10 min 25lber in the boat then alot of riding. On our way home the bite turned on for about an hour so tomorrow should be game on. Oct. can be some of the best fishing close to the beach but just like any other kind of fishing its up to the fish.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Grouper Cobia
Oak Island Fishing Charters went looking for King Mackerel close to the beach first thing but they were not around or did not want to bite. We moved off a few miles and were catching Big black bass and Gag grouper as fast as the bait could hit the water. Cobia and sharks were also part of the rod bending. Looks like Sat. might be the next day to sneak out.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Shark Fishing
Oak Island Fishing Charters played behind the Shrimp boats again today and the big Sharks are still around. After all the wind we have had its good to see something is still around. We have several days of great weather coming so now its off to looking for King Mackerel or Grouper.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Bad Catching
Where did the fish go today? No Kings, No Drum, No Sharks I had to be in the wrong spot all the time today but we really had no option because I had friends fishing from Oak Island all the way down to Mrytle Beach and it was the same story “dead ocean”. So we packed up came in and will just do it on another day.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Backwater Drum and Flounder
Oak Island Fishing Charters went to the backwater today and had a tough time. First stop was fish after fish but the drum were under sized so we kept plugging along. We hooked several fish that took off and broke our line but the ones that get away don’t count also had a undersized flounder. Everyday is different you just need to enjoy yourself on the water like the group did today.
