Once again today Oak Island Fishing Charters but a beating on the Gaffer Mahi’s and another big Wahoo. Fishing does not get any better right now. All our trips have had great luck on Grouper, Mahi and Wahoo’s on the offshore trips. Also the Nearshore trips have been producing steady action on the Spanish Mackerel. Todays Charter took their own pictures so it might take a week or two to post. Lets go fishing.

Oak Island Fishing Charters Update
Busy season is here and there has been lots of catching going on from the backwater to the bluewater. The Spanish Mackerel and Shark fishing has been steady on the nearshore trips. The offshore trips have been seeing good numbers of Big Grouper, Mahi and Wahoos. Lots going on right now so Ill check back in Sun.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Grouper/Mahi
Oak Island Fishing Charters wore the Mahi and Grouper out today, both boats had full limits of Grouper and never had to think about bringing the ruler out today. The Mahi were in the middle of no where with all of them being gaffers. Pictures will show soon.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Grouper Mission
We finally made it out to the deep water today looking for some grouper action. With the winds blowing harder than I like we stayed in an area a little closer. Big fish was the mission which made fishing slower but the rewards are great. Go home with a cooler full of grouper is great also.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Backwater Action
Looked like today was going to be a washout but around 9am the rain stopped and the hunt for fish started. Live pogies have finally showed up but are a little big so we had to make it happen. First cast was a monster Speckled Trout then after some moving around we got into the Red Drum action. Backwater all week.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Bottom Fishing
Oak Island Fishing Charters is showing the Grouper no mercy. With the right bait, and fast enough boat you can do some serious grouper fishing. When the weather is calm like this weekend it cant get much better. Boats full limit of big Scamp and Red Grouper.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Shark Fishing
Yes, the big sharks are here and in good numbers. With the water temps warming up they seem to be getting more active and ready to eat. We do not recommend gaffing or killing these sharks in this area because they show up every year and the ones we have killed in the past had baby sharks inside. I know on a 1/2 day trip you want to eat some fish and thats why we will catch the spanish mackerel but if you know that you like to eat shark and it is of legal size to keep then thats your call. Thanks guys for the volunteer catch and releases today.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Full Day Offshore
Oak Island Fishing Charters had a beautiful day on the water with flat calm conditions. Fishing was slower today but still produces quality Mahi Mahi’s and Red Grouper’s.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Nearshore/Backwater
We are back to the windy conditions again but the fishing has turned the corner on the nearshore. Spanish Mackerel and Big Sharks are here but scattered and Ive even seen a few King Mackerel caught. Today the red drum and trout was ok but the fish were a little small for the camera. Looks like we might get offshore Fri and Sat if the weather stays the same.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Spanish Mackerel
Finally the winds laid enough we were able to get out for a 1/2 day nearshore. Plenty of bait around with bluefish mixed in with a few nice sized spanish mackerel. Grouper trips still being cancelled due to the winds but the first day its calm we are gone. The season has started.
