Oak Island Fishing Charters went to the stream off Southport today hoping the wahoo were biting like they are up the road and we have yet to see one. We did boat a nice Blackfin Tuna and King Mackerel. Seeing that the stream was slow for us we went Amberjack Fishing and they showed us no mercy again today, at times nobody would even want to reel it in. With sore arms they wanted to catch some little fish so we caught Blackbass, Trigger fish and Gray Snapper.

Oak Island Fishing Charters Amberjack City
Oak Island Fishing Charters went a put a hurting on the Big Amberjacks today or I should say the Amberjacks were the ones causing the pain. I guess the grouper was sleeping all day today because this was the first time in a loooong time we could not get them going but we caught plenty of over sized fish to make up for it. This is a sample of what the BIG Amberjacks today looked like.

Oak Island Fishing Charters Grouper
Today Oak Island Fishing Charters was swinging for the fence chasing African Pompano but when lunch time rolled around we needed to fish for something else if we wanted to bring something back home. We did not have the right bait but we had a nice catch of Big Scamp and Gag grouper and all the Amberjacks we wanted to catch. The big blacksea bass are also a pain when you are trying to catch grouper but they eat well also. This is one of the Big Scamps. Go to our facebook page and watch the video.

Oak Island Fishing Charters Busy Offshore
Oak Island Fishing Charters has been busy offshore chasing down Amberjacks, Cobia, Blackbass, Grouper and a Huge African Pompano that was 2 oz from being a new state record. We will have pictures as soon as they are emailed to me. I have no idea what happened on our last grouper trip today or should I say blackbass trip. I hit some of my best stuff in the area where they have been jumping in the boat but nobody was home. There is a plan for the next Grouper trip and that is to change direction 180 degrees.
Oak Island Fishing Charters 3/4 day
Oak Island Fishing Charters had a 3/4 day fishing trip yesterday and for once the weatherman was wrong in our favor. We made the 30 mile ride with no problem but the fish did not want to bite once we got there. We had to move around all day looking for some fish that were not SeaBass. Finally we got into the Amberjacks and Grouper then right when it was time to go home a nice Mahi decided he want to go with us. At the end of the day there were some good eating in the boat
