With a hard NE wind blowing here at Oak Island today the Red Drum and Sharks wanted to bite once we found their location. Looks like we will get to head offshore tomorrow for some grouper.

Oak Island Fishing Charters Weekend Fishing Report Update
The last couple days has produced a lot of Big Red Drum on light tackle off Oak Island NC. The Shark fishing is still as good as it can get also on some of our half day fishing trips. Finally today we filled the box with King Mackerel on live bait. It looks like the fall fishing is getting ready to get even better (if that can happen) once this cold front moves through and lowers the water temp just a little.
Red Drum are still Red Hot off Oak Island NC
It just cant get any better or easier catching these giant Red Drum off Oak Island NC than right now. If this is your “wish” fish hurry up and get your trip lined up. Wahoo is the mission on Thursday and I sure hope they got the memo.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Red Drum Action
This year has been the best Red Drum fall fishing ive seen in a while. All the trips Sat, Sun, Mon and Today saw great action on the Red Drum. The King Mackerel nearshore still have not made a strong showing but it should happen any day now. We hope that day is tomorrow but first thing in the morning we are going to pull on these Red Drum again then go look for King Mackerel. BTW Thursday the Wahoo better swim fast.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Red Drum Fishing
The last several days has been a roller coaster ride with the Red Drum fishing. In the Ocean we have had no problem catching the Big over the slot Red Drum the last 4 days. The backwater fishing has been a real hit or miss on the drum action but when you do find them its game on. Here is a picture of a huge Drum caught in the backwater and it was a slow trip but had a big reward.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Fall Drum Catching
What looked like the worst day of the week to go fishing turned out to be a windy, cold and awesome drum catching nearshore fishing trip off Oak Island NC. Its been a log time since I’ve seen this many big drum biting. Looks like we will be fishing nearshore the next 5-6 day before we head to the stream for a boat load of big wahoo.
Oak Island Fishing Charters 2 week update
Once again Im way behind on the fishing reports but Ive been fishing everyday. The charters have been in the backwater catching Red Drum and Flounder with great results. On the Nearshore trips we have been catching huge Sharks of Oak Island and lots of King Mackerel and big Spanish Mackerel off the East Side of Bald Head Island. We also got this nice Sail Fish while looking at land and this proves that you never know what the next bite will be. The offshore trips have been producing great catches of Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna and Grouper. I will be fishing almost everyday the next several weeks so Ill try to be better at updating the report.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Weekly Update
I will admit Ive been slack the last couple week on the fishing reports but I do have a good reason. Im still fishing everyday all day and the fish are chewing. True meaning of Backwater to Bluewater the last 8-10 days with great catches of Red Drum, Sharks, Spanish Mackerel, Grouper and Amberjacks. Fishing does not get any better than right here at Oak Island. Still have a few days open in Oct so hurry up and don’t miss out.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Update
We have been really busy here at Oak Island fishing in the backwater and nearshore. With fall fishing right around the corner fishing should get better everyday. The Red Drum, Black Drum and Speckled Trout are providing steady action daily with the charters. On the nearshore scene the Spanish Mackerel and Shark fishing is about as good as it can get. We will be trying to catch a big Tarpon in the morning and after that picture (I hope) I will post some pictures from the past couple weeks. If you have not booked for Oct we still have a few days left open.
Oak Island Fishing Charters Shark Fishing
The Sharks are still around but the Spanish Mackerel have gotten small. With the steady shark action I guess the Spanish can take a back seat for a while. Get ready for what looks like to be a great fall with the water temps around 77 now.
